24 Hour Day Training
Last Saturday (25 May 19) the cadet corps from the Hofheim am Taunus Fire Brigades which includes Wallau, spent a full 24 hour day training. The young cadet fire firefighters got an opportunity to experience a day in the life of a firefighter and responded to several scenarios. The Jugendfeuerwehrwarte(10-17 year olds) and Wallau Fire Company supervisors responded to severalfire/rescue scenarios. Wallau fire cadets responded to two live fire scenarios, an animal rescue in a tree which required ladder employment, a HAZMAT incident and a search and rescue for a missing person at night. When all training scenarios were completed successfully, the young firefighters enjoyed a little free time. Due to construction work on the new Wallau fire house, all Wallau personnel spent the night in the Landcheshalle and were allowed to prepare lunch and dinner at the Kerbegesellschaft in Wallau. This was an excellent training opportunity for all concerned. Information provided by Firefighter Tine Me.
