2002 Ford Horton Ambulances
The fire company purchased in April of 2002 two Ford Horton Type III “Model 553” ambulances. The ambulances would be equipped with all the modern medical equipment of the time. Ambulance 392 and 393 were delivered to Bel Air in October of 2002 and placed in service in November of 2002.
Ambulance 393 would be involved in an accident on January 23, 2003, and due to the damage it was rechassised onto a 2003 Ford chassis. Ambulance 392 would be traded in on a 2008 GMC 4500 Horton Type III ambulance.
